GENERAL
Optimal install temperature is 60-80 F degrees. If you install when it is
colder or hotter than this you may have dissatisfactory results. Please try to stay within
this window of temp as you will have best results.
When prepping surface to be installed on you can use rubbing alcohol instead
of or in
conjunction with soapy water.
For soapy water you should never use more than two small drops in a 32 oz.
Spray bottle.
Regular dish soap (Dawn, Joy, Palmolive) does the trick.
Cover the squeegee with a paper towel or napkin while using. This prevents
unwanted
scratches on the vinyl and your clearcoat.
When installing, you can trim the transfer tape with a pair of scissors once
it has been
removed to get it out of the way. This really helps when applying vehicle
graphics.
Fold sticker in half to determine center. However, Do not crease the vinyl.
You can remove pesky bubbles with a needle or the xacto razor knife by
popping them
and squeegee out the air/water.
To get rid of glue (vinyl adhesive) use an over the counter product available
at Target or
Wal Mart such as Dissolve-It, Goof-Off, etc.
GRAPHICS
It is best to install graphics on a well prepared surface. We suggest a fact
ory/quality
paint job and a good coat of wax. We recommend using Meguiar’s wax. This
helps your
car looks its best and prevents the vinyl’s adhesive from harming your paint.
Only remove vehicle graphics in 80+F degree and full sun. This will prevent
the adhesive
from clinging onto the clear coat and ruining your paint. If you must remove
graphics at
night or when it is cold (winter, storm, etc) use a heat gun or hair dyer and
take your time.
Never take a razor or any object to your paint. Fingernails and patience work
wonders.
After removing graphics you need to recondition your paint. Your paint under
the graphic has
A) been protected from the sun, elements, etc and B) has had glue on it for
the length of your graphic install. We use Meguiar’s Deep Crystal System “Step 1” Paint Cleaner
and Professional Swirl Remover 2.0
WINDOW STICKERS
Applying in full sun or heat can greatly increase the number of bubbles.
Install them in the
shade or in the evening.
To remove, use fingernails or a straight edge razor. Be careful not to push
to hard and “slip”.
You can cause severe damage to you weather stripping and/or paint.
